I am a passionate writer, thinker, and advocate for free speech, humanism, and critical thinking. With a background in politics, media, public relations, and activism, I bring my wealth of experience and knowledge to my blog, Unintuitive Discourse, which serves as a platform for thought-provoking ideas and conversations at the intersection of culture, politics, money, technology, civilization, science, and humanism.
I was accepted into Canada's Urgent Protection Programme (UPP) three months after submitting my UNHCR application in March 2017, and I am currently resettled in Canada as a political refugee. Looking back, I can appreciate how fortunate I was to move through the UNHCR asylum process so fast. Despite living a private life due to valid safety concerns, I remain committed to advancing humanist worldviews and thinking in mainstream political thought. I have made is my quest to contribute towards redefining the discourse on politics and culture with a focus on the importance of scientific, humanist, and evolutionary approaches. I believe that by exploring our incentive mechanisms and promoting open and honest dialogue, we can work towards creating a more inclusive, fair, just, and equal society. As a self-identified future ethicist and political humanist, I am a passionate advocate for the separation of money and state.
My autodidactic journey has led me to explore a diverse array of topics, from Bitcoin and economics to history, anthropology, society, science, technology, AI, psychology, philosophy, human nature, and self-help. I view the human body through the mental model of a "meat-robot," analogously explaining most aspects of the human body and mind through the language of computer science and robotics.
With a well-informed and defensible view of Bitcoin, I see it as a catalyst for aligning human incentives, reducing violence and wars, promoting better decision-making, and enabling our species to strive towards higher aspirations. I am dedicated to fostering critical thinking, nurturing informed, politically engaged citizens, and embracing self-directed learning as a testament to my dedication to building a better future for all.
My writings and reflections are shaped by my personal journey from Islam to atheism, my ongoing struggle for democracy and secularism in the Maldives, and my insightful views for men about and support of feminist women and various movements that inspire change. My commitment to inspiring and educating readers is reflected in my writings, my background, and my approach to writing as a form of politics.
